I tried to warn you!

You did! It's just that there were no good options. I didn't bring my laptop with me last night, so I couldn't work from home.

What's with today today?

I try to keep my "good enough for being seen in public" t-shirts in a separate drawer. I have a smaller stock of special t-shirts that only get worn at cons and such, because they're not getting any younger/made anymore, like a 20+yo "Suicide Squid" t-shirt.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Pipes were not frozen, road construction hit our pipes. We have water again. Yay

I have shredded 2 bags full of old applications thus far today. Probably have 2 mores worth. Pulled off at least 50 paper clips.

I'm finally at work after being stuck in traffic for hours. I could have walked to work in less time, but it's too damn cold for me to try it.

I am wildly cranky.

This trip's rental car - Dodge Challenger, manual drive. I didn't know rental companies stocked manuals anymore. It is zippy.

Jesus God it is so cold today (22 right now, woo hoo) that the thermostat (for the indoors) must be lying. Because it does NOT feel like 68 anywhere in the house.

I think I must move my laptop into the bedroom, where I can fire up the heated mattress pad and warm my poor toes up. I'm wearing wool socks and big fuzzy Ugg-like slippers and my feet are still freezing.

(I get irrationally angry about weather. Really. I've been walking around all day muttering "FUCK this bullshit weather!" The dog is perplexed.)

t edit And, of course, with that said, I have to acknowledge that Tim is working in an unheated warehouse and my dad has to bring in grocery carts for 30 minutes at a time, so my poor not-quite-68-degree toes are still winning this one.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Cold weather also makes me angry.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I was cold at night last week, so over the weekend, I:
- pulled out the window air conditioner
- put down the storm windows
- put flannel sheets on my bed
- added a blanket as well

NOW I am warm enough!

I love the heated mattress pad beyond words. Definitely not cold at night. But the ambient temperature in the house right now is not 68, no matter what the (lying) thermostat says.
