Maybe I'll leave those plants in the planter boxes Hubby put on the front of the house. Some of them are annuals, I'm not sure if any are perennials. As I told him repeatedly, "I do not garden." I watered them until I couldn't cope and the 100 degree sun finished baking them, so I don't know if they're actually dead or stunned. I'll wait till Spring to see if they've joined the Choir Invisible.

I talked with a person who has openings on his team. We're both not super sure I would be great for the current openings, but he wants to get headcount for another thing that is 100% in my wheelhouse. Unfortunately, I have to wait to see if that position will exist.
I mean, it's not like I want to move before Christmas anyway, so I just have to figure out how to keep doing a good job and keep my anxiety from eating me, starting with my bottom.
Timelies all!
My mom is in the hospital. It's not all that bad- she has cellulitus in her leg, and the doctor(s) decided she needed IV antibiotics. I spoke to her, and she seems pretty good, all things considered.
Also, I whacked my leg into a cabinet this morning and it hurts.(Also starting to bruise nicely)
Monday, once again, you suck.
Here's the Band Aid 30 lyrics. Looks like they tried to fix some of the more problematic bits.
Sorry about your mom, Sheryl, I hope she does well.
Good luck, shrift.

Given that and all the previous advice, I moved all the plants close to the house, under what shelter there is, they got watered well today by the rain, and we'll see which lives through the winter and which dies before spring.
Good thoughts to your mom, Sheryl.
That's what I thought about the plants! Hooray.
I hope your mom gets better quickly, Sheryl.
The plant advice sounds good to me. I've had things come back that, according to their tags, we're annuals here (after a rougher than usual winter, too) and had alleged perennials choke and die. You never know. Plants, man.
Health~ma for your mom, Sheryl.
JFC I left my front door wide open all day. The regular wooden door, the metal security door was closed but not locked so at least the dog didn't take off again. Gah!
Got weird work news: the head of Completly Sucking Company at our site, the one who has fought tirelessly for us, is retiring. He's eligible and implied obliquely that he's worn out from the battle. This could be bad, depending on who replaces him. Pretty sure none of the managers under him want the job. Also, they're reinstating the raises they didn't give us. Not sure how this is going to work. Highly improbable it will be retroactive. It probably won't amount to much.
This, coupled with the extension of open enrollment by 10 days, indicates to me this company has no fucking clue.
