Good thoughts to your mom, Sheryl.
That's what I thought about the plants! Hooray.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

I hope your mom gets better quickly, Sheryl.
The plant advice sounds good to me. I've had things come back that, according to their tags, we're annuals here (after a rougher than usual winter, too) and had alleged perennials choke and die. You never know. Plants, man.
Health~ma for your mom, Sheryl.
JFC I left my front door wide open all day. The regular wooden door, the metal security door was closed but not locked so at least the dog didn't take off again. Gah!
Got weird work news: the head of Completly Sucking Company at our site, the one who has fought tirelessly for us, is retiring. He's eligible and implied obliquely that he's worn out from the battle. This could be bad, depending on who replaces him. Pretty sure none of the managers under him want the job. Also, they're reinstating the raises they didn't give us. Not sure how this is going to work. Highly improbable it will be retroactive. It probably won't amount to much.
This, coupled with the extension of open enrollment by 10 days, indicates to me this company has no fucking clue.
Well, that was a very rigorous interview. Now they want me in person. in Torrance.
Century City job, please appear!
couple of questions.
anyone know how to easily put two images side by side into a new image?
also the remote to my tv has become almost impossible to click on and off. I tried taking it apart and cleaning the connections, did not help much. is this what universal remotes are for?
Good luck, shrift.
Thanks. I'm trying to be patient and not complain too much because at least I have a job, but right now I'm feeling a strong urge to run away and join the circus.
I probably should sign up for some Python and SQL courses since I might be able to find a new position faster if I do. But right now I am drinking beers and burning through a Civil War and Reconstruction course via ColumbiaX because I like the lectures and I've got to deal with this anxiety somehow.

I've done programming classes on a few different MOOC platforms, and I thought Udacity was by far the best. Not as many courses as some of the others, but they've got several Python ones. (Read the course descriptions carefully -- there are a few different ones labeled as "beginner," but one of them is actually an introduction to Python (where you can pretty safely skip the first section if you've programmed in any other language before), while another one is an intro to OOP through Python, which assumes you already know the basic syntax and everything.)
K's birthday month is super taxing. In part because she thought legoland as a family gift would be fun. And it is fun, but sometimes it is too much fun. Grace melted down at a ride and lost her trache cap which is bad. We have an extra because it's an industrial part that Lori got which is good (so they cost $.79 a piece for the Rover but through health insurance it's closer to $200 each).
home with a million things to do and tomorrow is my last day at my current school. Blargh.

The appalling cost disparity aside, having a Rover cap is pretty cool.
