brillig

I've been afraid of the various Dranos, I keep hearing they'll wreck your plumbing.

Our wings are not tired.

It seems to depend on the plumbing, but I don't know specifically why. t unhelpful

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, I think older plumbing is more fragile and maybe can't take it? Something like that.

I had a dream this morning that was a definite Bad Sign: I was working in the field, and cut my arm so I could take a break. Just a little! Not to actually hurt myself, just enough that they would whisk me away for a few days. And yet I still think I have to work tomorrow! I will not feel better getting less done! I think after this week, everything will be OK.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Plumbers really hate Drano, and not because it means they might not get work. Not only does it corrode pipes, but a lot of people call them in after Drano has failed, which means they have a lot of hazardous splashing to worry about.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That doesn't sound good, Jesse. Good luck with getting through this week, I guess.

I've been working my way up the food chain of drain openers for a while now, not too worried that I will make the plumbing worse. I haven't gone as far as actual lye, fwtw.

The status is NOT quo.

Am barely functional. Spent five days in DC with students at journalism convention and didn't crawl into bed until after 11 last night and now it's MONDAY, which seems completely unfair. Also spent the last night in DC in an ER with a student with an allergic reaction (got back to the hotel after 3 am Saturday night). Am barely functional. I need a weekend. Great trip, but wow.

Ahhhhh, tub is draining in minutes instead of hours. So worth the risk.

I am not a Serious Absinthe Snob. I have opinions about what I like, and approve of setting things on fire.

Normally I'd agree, but I cannot condone the destruction of absinthe by any method other than digestion.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

Spent the weekend with family in Michigan. Celebrated birthdays with my nieces who are turning four and six. With no internet to distract me, I managed to finish two books.

I had my performance review this morning. There weren't really any surprises, but now I'm filled with anxiety and dread and frustration because I keep getting conflicting directives about what I'm supposed to be doing with my time. I just want to get out, but I have no idea if/when anyone from another org will want to hire me.

That sounds really frustrating, shrift. I hope you find yourself in a better situation soon. Way nice weekend!

Does it make you feel better if only the vapors are ignited? And there is some inhalation of smoke/vapors involved?
