Am barely functional. Spent five days in DC with students at journalism convention and didn't crawl into bed until after 11 last night and now it's MONDAY, which seems completely unfair. Also spent the last night in DC in an ER with a student with an allergic reaction (got back to the hotel after 3 am Saturday night). Am barely functional. I need a weekend. Great trip, but wow.

Ahhhhh, tub is draining in minutes instead of hours. So worth the risk.

I am not a Serious Absinthe Snob. I have opinions about what I like, and approve of setting things on fire.

Normally I'd agree, but I cannot condone the destruction of absinthe by any method other than digestion.

Spent the weekend with family in Michigan. Celebrated birthdays with my nieces who are turning four and six. With no internet to distract me, I managed to finish two books.

I had my performance review this morning. There weren't really any surprises, but now I'm filled with anxiety and dread and frustration because I keep getting conflicting directives about what I'm supposed to be doing with my time. I just want to get out, but I have no idea if/when anyone from another org will want to hire me.

That sounds really frustrating, shrift. I hope you find yourself in a better situation soon. Way nice weekend!

The good news is my performance review was rescheduled due to my boss suddenly having to travel all week. Good because I hadn't actually done my self-review part. Oops

I had a dream that we had a kitten at work. Also I kept losing clothes/shoes and trying to figure out how to get new ones (so I wouldn't be half naked or unclothed). And then they hired someone from one of my sites without asking me about her and I was so mad I told them I was going to quit. Which was awkward. Glad that part was just a dream! The kitten was fun though.

Hey, I've got another article about Ebola! It's by clinicians at the Univ. of Nebraska Medical Center, which is one of the 4 medical centers in the country with the specialized biocontainment patient care units.

I feel like a ghoul for being excited about this. Yay medical editing!

The wind map is especially exciting today! I wonder if those clashing swirls of wind translate to storms.
