I just think it's rather odd that a nation that prides itself on its virility should feel compelled to strap on forty pounds of protective gear just in order to play rugby.

Goodbye and Good Riddance 2013: That Was the Year That Was

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Thanksgivukkahmas, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Out you go, 2013!

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I've posted and deleted a couple of times, trying to figure out how to say this without sounding pathetic.

Basically, are the Spartacus and Thor cards anon cards from anyone who cares to send one that have a fun signature? It sounds like a number of people are, well, playing, and I'd like to play along, too.

There are times when it really kind of sucks being the only Buffista in my neck of the woods, and there are times when I really feel disconnected from y'all. The fact that I can't quite figure out how to make Facebook palatable doesn't help.

Because books.

I think it's anyone who wants to play, Anne. Also, insent.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I hit the Spartacus/Buffista jackpot yesterday with three.

Aw, thank you! I do hope to get back out to the West Coast for a visit one of these years.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I need to see you when I swing through one of these times, Anne. I drive through STL about two or three times a year. Admittedly I do a lot of cursing about your traffic and construction on my way through, but still!

Yeah, the roads around here can be not great. Anyhow, I'd love to see you if you have time when passing through! I've also got a guest room if you want to make it an overnight.

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

Since this was the original smoothie thread, here I am to say I'm still having them, a month later. Not every day, but several days, usually after I go to the gym. I've probably gotten more veggies in the past month, just by virtue of cramming spinach in a smoothie, than I had in the previous 3 months, and that is sadly not an exaggeration. (Well, I'm also digging roasted Brussels sprouts and cauliflower, too. So veggies are creeping into my diet in more than just smoothies.)

But seriously, I'm liking these smoothies. So tasty. And coconut oil has become my new thing.

Steph, are you using a regular blender, or some sort of special one, or what? How does that handle spinach?
