Goodbye and Good Riddance 2013: That Was the Year That Was

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Thanksgivukkahmas, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Out you go, 2013!

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I got a package in the mail today from Consuela! It was a lovely assortment of gifts, including a flashlight keychain (highly useful), a deck of Cockney rhyming slang cards, a "Yay, Aliens!" magnet (already on my fridge), and a poetry journal. There was also a gorgeous print of a girl riding a dragon and flying a kite, and a wee thumb drive.

When I accessed thumb drive, I found it was FULL of BBC audio plays, audio books, vids (Scooby Road!) and other such goodies. I am so looking forward to browsing through this tomorrow while snowbound.

Thank you SO MUCH, Consuela!

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

giant metal ostrich?

Anybody else misread this as "giant metal crotch"?

Just me?

Alrighty then.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Yay, Anne! I'm so glad it all arrived okay (I was a little worried about the print). I considered adding a fruitcake, but not everyone is into fruitcakes...

It was fun pulling it all together! I'm sorry I didn't do anything sneaky like other people do: I'm not quite organized enough to mail a series of packages from different parts of the country...

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I considered adding a fruitcake, but not everyone is into fruitcakes...

I think Anne is one of the Buffistas who has sent out delicious fruitcakes to those who claim them, in the past.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I haven't baked them in a while, but I may have to readdress that next year. I got a little burnt out on baking, but the desire is creeping back in.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

If its creeping increases to creating levels YOU JUST LET ME KNOW!

Thank you, beth. And Trudy, absolutely!

I've made cookies, so the baking mojo is definitely on it's way back.
