Goodbye and Good Riddance 2013: That Was the Year That Was
Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Thanksgivukkahmas, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Out you go, 2013!
Normally my grocery store sells the heck out of king cakes. Usually with the baby taped to the lid which looks all kinds of weird. But I was at the store earlier today and didn't see any. I wasn't looking for them...but normally you can't miss them.
I signed my card, so it is safe to say it wasn't me. But I know who it is, msbelle. Heeeee! (Or Sheeeeeeeeeeeeee!)
Good god: I wonder-- how long ago was the Great Muffaletta War, anyway?
It was during the planning for the New Orleans F2F, so 9-ish years ago?
Yeah, what -t said; Em was 6 months old at that F2F.
Burrell, they're pretty easy to make.
I can see that, looking at the recipes. Hmmm... But see, never having encountered king cake in the, um, flesh (so to speak), I didn't know there was a difference between NO king cake and galette de roi. But that's wrong.
It was so long ago. I am sure I would be embarrassed at my involvement.
I did not even "know" some of you all then. crazy.
I knew it was not Suzi, because I have already been blessed with Suzi as a gifter. Other people I can eliminate for the same reason: smonster, quester, and debet. I may be missing someone, but I doubt it. OH the hunt is part of the fun I GUESS! a signed card is JUST AS FUN THOUGH.
Of course as the administrator, I could just go look, but even I can see that there is NO FUN in that. If I do not hear that I should hold off, I will be making a guess tonight.
Sue, I got your package! Thanks so much! The yarn is gorgeous and so soft, and I love the socks and the ornaments and the penguins! Did you make the blue snowflake?
I did! I'm glad you like it. I wanted to get some local yarn and I figured lace weight waqs pretty versatile.
Amyth, your present came today! It's all lovely. I got an ornament, a shopping bag that folds in a little pouch, a little, book of stories, delicious toffee, and a mini pie making kit. I love it all. Thank you!
I love that the yarn was hand-dyed in Canada. I still remembering going to a yarn store in New Orleans and being disappointed at seeing only yarn that I could get back home.
Also, this organic dark chocolate is amazing. I am currently unable to chew....for the next six months...so I keep popping in little squares to melt on my tongue. YUM!
