Goodbye and Good Riddance 2013: That Was the Year That Was

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Thanksgivukkahmas, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Out you go, 2013!

Punishingly Intricate

Yay! Glad it arrived and that you like, Amy. I think those are Trees of Life but I realize that I don't know what the origin of that image/concept is.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

If any LA-istas want to join us for part or all of our Holiday Movie day, Here's the schedule: 10:30 am BREAKFAST (75 min) The North Hollywood Diner 11329 Magnolia Blvd North Hollywood, CA 91601 818-761-3341

We’ve reserved tables out on patio area (all the way to the left as you enter the restaurant).

12:40 pm The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug - 161 min Pacific Sherman Oaks 5 14424 Milbank Street Sherman Oaks, CA 91423 818-501-0753

4:00 pm Saving Mr. Banks - 120 min Laemmle' NoHo 7 5240 Lankershim Boulevard North Hollywood, cA 91601 818-478-3836

BREAK

8:15 pm American Hustle - 137 min Arclight Sherman Oaks 15301 Ventura Boulevard Sherman Oaks, CA 91403 818-501-0753

11:30 pm DINNER (80 min) Jerry's Famous Deli (Studio City) 12655 Ventura Blvd Studio City, CA 91604

As always, buying your tickets in advance is highly recommended. Pacific Sherman Oaks doesn't do advance sales, so arrive early to the Hobbit.

Please let us know if you plan to join for a meal so we can get big enough tables for us all to hang out together. Other than that, you're on your own.

Xmas Movie Day--we do the planning so all you have to do is show up! Come for some, stay for all -- as you wish! Everyone's a free agent.

That is super awesome, Scrappy! My sister and I do something similar, but people don't join us. I would totally join if I were in LA. Though she and I are going to see different movies, probably. Definitely Frozen, not sure what else.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That sounds amazing, Scrappy.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I got a box from Lush delivered today. Delicious smelling, of course. No name, but I am assuming my elf. THANK YOU.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Dear (still!!) Secret Santee,

I got my presents! I love the book box & YAY for Albion's Folkways & the Vampire fish. Thank you!

A Certain Canadian Bartender is very smugly refusing to let me know who you are, though.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I can't believe that my offer of free cookies that I posted in Press yesterday is going unclaimed. The offer is still open and I can also add in some homemade peppermint bark.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Me, me, me!!! I saw the post and figure I was too late to put in a claim.

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

They sound excellent, and if I could eat them, I would have jumped all over the offer. (Tim could eat them, but as of right now, we have a big container of Christmas cookies from last night, and he's getting a big container of Christmas cookies AND fruitcake today, in addition to all the Trader Joe's cookies he has. So he doesn't need any more cookies until about June.)

Suzi, send me your address. I have enough for one more person.
