Goodbye and Good Riddance 2013: That Was the Year That Was
Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Thanksgivukkahmas, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Out you go, 2013!
Yay! I'm glad everything got there okay, Lee. Those caramels are one of my favorite things from that candy company. Also, thank you for posting the pictures - I was delighted to see George presiding over the haul.
ION, drunk camels sound like they would be amusing. Probably from a distance, though.
I am picturing merlot camels as purple from the feet up, as if from stomping grapes.
Or maybe made of gelatinized wine. The wave form has not collapsed.
I think you gave me some raspberry caramels from there once and they were divine.
I waved at you earlier this week! I was in STL for literally two hours then flew back home.
Did you see me waving back?
(and yes, their raspberry caramels are lucious - and there's another company around her that makes lavender caramels)
OOOOOOOOOOOOH!!! I got a package from my Secret Santa!! I'm gonna open it RIGHT NOW!!
IT'S FROM BRENDA!! First thing: a graduation card with party poppers!!
A Union Jack umbrella!! Which I need today!
A "Friends" mug and a GORGEOUS wood star ornament from the Bethlehem Nativity store!!
And a collection of bad girls throughout history (herstory?) postcards featuring Liz Taylor, Bettie Page, Josephine Baker, Nellie Bly, ADA LOVELACE!!! (Science chicks FTW!!), and Marie Antoinette. These are not getting mailed!! They are being framed and put in my office!!
THANK YOU, BRENDA!!
Also, the tape was AWESOME.
Yay, Empress Day success! Perfect timing.
When I went to wrap, all I could find was leopard print scotch tape. Which didn't really match the wrapping paper but I thought would be appreciated nonetheless.
The ornament came from the Christkindlmarket [link] in Chicago which I think you would really love if you're ever down here between thanksgiving and Xmas.
Aw, man -- my Secret Santa presents made me cry! Thanks, Pix! It was: Two great notebooks (one recycled from a kids' book), cute sticky notes, which I totally need for the new office, a great Pasadena ornament, and (the kicker) a mug with my cover photo from Facebook of baby me and my parents, that says "Good Stuff Happens Every Day." So sweet! And the trim is my favorite green.
Thank you!!
