If anyone really enjoyed Your Name, I strongly suggest a few other anime films: Her Blue Sky and Ride Your Wave. Gorgeous and heartachingly romantic and beautiful. I know Ride Your Wave has been released but I'm not sure about Her Blue Sky yet. Still waiting on word.
Matilda's a big fan of Your Name. For the record, Cash, she took manga of Naruto and Haikyu and Perfect Neverland up to Reno with JZ this weekend. And she's been on a major Naruto binge, but is also luring her two friends, Mia and Iris, deeper and deeper into anime fandoms.
It's so weird listening to her watch Naruto again after Emmett binged the same stuff 10 years ago. It takes him like 10 episodes to learn one fucking jutsu!
Hahahaha! The creator of Naruto has a new manga out. Samurai 8. I haven't watched Boruto but the kids like it. I'm currently watching Golden Kamuy, Ikebukaro West Gate Park, Haikyu, Moriaty the Patriot, and a Chinese donghua, Heaven Official's Blessing,
Her Blue Sky and Ride Your Wave are DEFINITELY in Matilda's wheelhouse if she liked Your Name.

She likes the sad tragic ones. The slow moving emo ones.
Naruto does make her laugh a lot, though.
(Emmett has big Naruto energy. Emmett's core characters are: Calvin [of &Hobbes], Finn the Human and Naruto.)

I cried like a big, ol baby. Has she seen Hotarubi no mori e? OMG. TRAGIC and SWEEEEEET. It's super hard to find. Youtube or Vimeo might have it.
Thanks for recommending Owl House. Most enjoyable.
Other animated Disney shows I liked: Amphibia, Big City Greens and Star vs the Forces of Evil, which has the catchiest opening theme ever..its gonna be a little weird, it’s gonna be a little wild! How can I not love a show featuring Dimensional Scissors?
I’m a compulsive credits reader, so I noticed that Big City Greens has lots of women of staff. Writing, story boarding, directing... they are doing it all over at BCG.
ltc likes Owl House and Big City Greens, but her current obsession is Twelve Forever which unfortunately is a one season and done but a really good show. All are huge improvements on Johnny Test.
I just watched the first few episodes of the Animaniacs reboot on Hulu.
It is glorious. Simply glorious.
So am I the only one who saw
Soul
and wants to talk about it? Because it was clearly in the vein of
Inside Out
but I really enjoyed it.
Glad to hear someone enjoyed it. I have put off watching it after reading some negative reviews. I might give it a try after all.
