They upgraded their software around season 4. Here's a character short (non-spoilery because it's a flashback to before the start of the show) with their current animation: [link]
Animation 1: I'm Not Bad, I'm Just Drawn That Way
A thread to discuss television and online animation.
That does look better, Kalshane. The backgrounds seem more intricate, too. Thanks for the link.
You're welcome.
I really kind of hope once the series is done they'll go back and "remaster" the earlier seasons with the new animation software.
Young Justice Season 3 starts tomorrow. Do I sign up or not? $7.99 a month. Hmmm....
Yeah. That's the question I'm asking myself, too. I'm also annoyed they used the Netflix streaming numbers to help determine to bring it back but it's not actually going to be available on Netflix.
It is going to be available on Netflix, overseas, not in the US.
So I guess RWBY still can bring the goods; when it suits them, when they bother to get around to it.
So as far as Young Justice goes, my current plan is to wait until Game of Thrones is finished, then cancel HBO and sign up for DC, then watch Young Justice, cancel DC and sign up for Disney, which should be available sometime later this year.
I watched the first episode of gen:LOCK and thought it was kind of interesting, then I saw the cast list, and my jaw dropped. If they're going to invest in that kind of talent, it better be worth it.
Dragon Prince Season 2 trailer!!!! [link]
Hard to tell definitely if the animation is improved; it seems a little better. I hope for later seasons they take a hard look at Spider-Verse, which was reduced frame-rate animation done well.
So, catching up on Bob's Burgers :(a) The Gene Mile really came together beautifully and (b) "Doll Things Considered" is legitimately a good retail name
