My nephew and niece-in-law are into RWBY, so I thought I'd check it out. The animation seems to be kind of like stuff I've seen in video games, complete with the oddly timed, awkward movement. Is my cable glitching, or is it supposed to look like that?

Animation 1: I'm Not Bad, I'm Just Drawn That Way
A thread to discuss television and online animation.

Supposed to look like that.
The animation gets better as it goes on, but yeah it's pretty rough at first because they're using off-the-shelf animation programs.
So I binge-watched Star Wars: Rebels over the last week or so. After a while, I really got into it, and the slow build to an epic finale really paid off.
However I must protest: why does Hera Syndulla keep getting promoted? She's an excellent pilot, but every major mission she leads, they lose a ridiculous percentage of their forces! The Rebels should stop giving her command of large actions.

OK, fair enough. I'll keep watching for a bit.
They upgraded their software around season 4. Here's a character short (non-spoilery because it's a flashback to before the start of the show) with their current animation: [link]
That does look better, Kalshane. The backgrounds seem more intricate, too. Thanks for the link.
You're welcome.
I really kind of hope once the series is done they'll go back and "remaster" the earlier seasons with the new animation software.
Young Justice Season 3 starts tomorrow. Do I sign up or not? $7.99 a month. Hmmm....
Yeah. That's the question I'm asking myself, too. I'm also annoyed they used the Netflix streaming numbers to help determine to bring it back but it's not actually going to be available on Netflix.
