And now I'm at the end, and that was great. It really does explain a lot, and now we know why the spirit issue is so important. I'm guessing that Unalaq is channeling Vaatu, opening the spirit portal on purpose to import tainted spirits and increase the chaos and darkness in the world.
As for Raava, is she dead, or just bonded with the Avatar forever? Because she doesn't seem to have communicated directly with either Aang or Korra, and nobody has ever mentioned her. I'm just wondering, because the whole yin/yang balance thing seems like it would be perpetually out of wack if Vaatu lives and Raava doesn't.

That seems to be the general speculation and it makes sense. What happens if he bonds with Vaatu and becomes a Dark Avatar?

The latter. She even says that. I don't know why she never talked to Aang or Korra, but I guess you could say she
has,
through all her past incarnations.
It's kind of sad that one of the best episodes of the season barely features anyone from the main cast. That was some good stuff, though. And I really liked the art style for the backgrounds and bending making it look very much like traditional paintings from China and Japan.
I also feel like Chief Bei Fong is being criminally under-used this season. She deserves so much better than to be the stereo-typical shouting police captain.

ITA. I also felt the character designs for some of the secondary characters seemed to reflect traditional East Asian art as well.
Well, the statue of Wan makes total sense now: [link]
And as the AVClub review pointed out, a whole lot of Mononoke and Spirited Away.
My DVR cut off slightly early. The last thing I saw was Korra flying off on a flying bison. Anything after that?
Nope. Just the old "I've got to stop it."
Hello thread. I haven't been part of the conversation here, but I hope I can pop in and ask a question. CJ has been asked to be a part of a group cosplay of Attack on Titan as Connie. I know nothing of this anime and was hoping I could get a readers digest summary of the story from someone here - if anyone is familiar with the show.
