Saffron: But we've been wed. Aren't we to become one flesh? Mal: Well, no, uh... We're still two fleshes here, and I think that your flesh ought to sleep somewhere else.

Mr. Scola’s wardrobe by Botany 500

Korra: Well, that more than makes up for more than the rest of the season.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Oooh! I haven't seen Korra yet!

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Yeah, that was pretty fucking great. Recontextualizes both series in a really interesting way. I had no idea Steven Yeun would have such a big part!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Huh. I am not sure what I think.

Brilliant insight from the A.V. Club comments:

The whole thing starts when Wan steals fire from the the Lion Turtle. That makes him Prometheus, right?

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Wow, that was awesome.

Wow, the art in this is so different than usual in Korra. It's really lovely, and also excellent.

And now I'm at the end, and that was great. It really does explain a lot, and now we know why the spirit issue is so important. I'm guessing that Unalaq is channeling Vaatu, opening the spirit portal on purpose to import tainted spirits and increase the chaos and darkness in the world.

As for Raava, is she dead, or just bonded with the Avatar forever? Because she doesn't seem to have communicated directly with either Aang or Korra, and nobody has ever mentioned her. I'm just wondering, because the whole yin/yang balance thing seems like it would be perpetually out of wack if Vaatu lives and Raava doesn't.

That seems to be the general speculation and it makes sense. What happens if he bonds with Vaatu and becomes a Dark Avatar?

As for Raava, is she dead, or just bonded with the Avatar forever?

The latter. She even says that. I don't know why she never talked to Aang or Korra, but I guess you could say she has, through all her past incarnations.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

It's kind of sad that one of the best episodes of the season barely features anyone from the main cast. That was some good stuff, though. And I really liked the art style for the backgrounds and bending making it look very much like traditional paintings from China and Japan.

I also feel like Chief Bei Fong is being criminally under-used this season. She deserves so much better than to be the stereo-typical shouting police captain.
