I’m hard-pressed to think of any long-form TV series, any at all, that ended as perfectly as both Avatar and Korra have.
SUCK IT, LOST!! SUCK IT, GALACTICA!!!

THAT was a wonderful ending to the series.
That was nicely done. Tied up a lot of things, resolved a lot of character dynamics, and even democratized the Earth Kingdom!
Well done, show!
even democratized the Earth Kingdom
When Wu was first introduced, I never expected that they'd, like, actually develop him and make me kind of like him.
So much to love about the finale. I especially loved how, just like in the A:TLA finale, every single fucking character played an important role. Even Meelo got his chance to shine, finally!
So sad it's all over!!!
Wu came through, Varrick came through.
The reason my kids love this show (and A:TLA) so much is that kids are vital and treated like people. They are expected to come through and respected for their power and ideas.
Vanity Fair weighs in on the season and the finale with some spoilers at the end: [link]
Technically it's got spoilers the whole way through, including the URL and the header image. It's a good piece, though.
The AVClub recap was late getting up, and you can tell that the writer put a lot of effort into it.
That was good. The Kuvira/Korra fight in the cockpit was pure awesomeness.
Overall, I'm satisfied with the ending, though sad we're done with Korra's story (and possibly the Avatar-verse). With how strong the last two seasons have been, it's a shame there won't be more.
I still find Wu kind of annoying, but I was happy to see him grow.
Totally wasn't expecting them to push the Korra/Asami relationship as far as they did, even if they left (very little) room for doubt. I was never specifically a shipper where they were concerned, I actually loved their friendship, but them being romantically involved works just as well.

This is where I was too. I loved them as friends, but I could also them as lovers if they both wanted it.
