Some additional Korra thoughts:
I wasn't completely sold on the portrayal of elderly Zuko until the scene in the elevator. That look on his face and the "It didn't work" was classic.
I'm glad Asami and Korra got some scenes together (and some tandem ass-kicking) and were able to basically shrug and say "Mako's an idiot" and move on with their lives.
Bolin is still a little too heavy on the comic-relief side of things, but at least he wasn't completely useless like he was for 3/4s of season 2.
The new villainous quartet are interesting, though I do wander how the first one (whose name I don't remember) managed to become a badass Airbender over the course of two weeks while stuck in a cell. I suppose the line about him reading old Air Nomad philosophical texts was supposed to hand-wave it?
The Tenzin recruiting montage was pretty amusing.
Not sure how I feel about the rehash of "The Dai Li have a secret prison" storyline. I mean, yeah, it's kind of their thing, but we already saw it once in A:TLA.
I basically agree with everything Kalshane said except I'm excited about the rehash, and it ties into Meelo's first thought, which was to have an Airbender army.
I figure Zahir must have practiced in his cell for a couple weeks. Maybe he was an Air Nomad fanboy and had studied all the moves too, so it was his moment.
Tom, I'm DLing it now - the first two eps anyway.
If I get it down clean I'll send via Dropbox.
Yay! Thank you, Hec! And the third episode did actually make it to the DVR, so I’m all set!
I'm watching an old Justice League (Saturday mornings FTW), and this episode has Ron Perlman as Orion (he's kind of perfect), Mark Hamill as Trickster, and Alexis Denisof as Mirror Master. I love the actors JLU gets.
And Michael Rosenbaum is, always, perfect as The Flash.
Mark Hamill has a long tradition of playing the Trickster: [link]
I love how Orion and Batman are ready to pound the shit out of Trickster, but then Flash just goes and talks to him, and gets him to turn himself in.

Right? And Trickster is all, "You got it, Flash!" and then Batman and Orion look REALLY DISAPPOINTED.
That was a great episode, even if Orion's inclusion is rather random.
I'm glad Mako and Bolin got to meet their family, and I like the thief kid. All the people busting out of the secret prisons-for-one are pretty interesting. I want to see where this is going.
Loved the Tenzin recruiting montage.
Yeah, to clarify, I was cool with the evil gang of benders each imprisoned in ability-countering secret prisons. The rehash in this case is the secret Dai Li prison in Ba Sing Se.
Though I do wonder how the evil Earth bender guy can make his rock shuriken thing light on fire.
