Natter 72: We Were Unprepared for This
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I picked up a cold, so I went to the office, picked up my laptop, set my out of office email, and came home. Now I'm watching Lilo and Stitch while the cat takes advantage of my lack of motion.
I hope ou get some useful information from the doctor, ita.
Oh hee -- the call wasn't today, just some day at 9.
My main unemployment strategy was getting out of the house every day, preferably walking a long way, so a hike seems like a good call. (Walking was good because it used up time AND was active. So I walked the couple of miles to the unemployment center, and that used up half the day!)
GLAAD's Where We Are On TV report reveals that overall queer representation is down since last year's all time peak, but is high compared to the other years since tracking started. These numbers aren't
high,
though. And it would be great if they were tracking Dramatic Series with Leading LGBT Characters on Broadcast Television instead of and/or Supporting, since most of their numbers are going to be made up in the qualification.
But HEY.
Calli, are you sure you don't have a PRE-cold? TV told me they exist...
No, I'm pretty sure I have the garden variety, friend's-baby-sneezed-all-over-me cold.
Good luck with the doctors, ia.
Consuela, a hike sounds good. (Well, conceptually, to me, at the moment.)
It's a glorious week here in Utah, chilly mornings, sunny afternoons, no snow outside of the mountains. If I can keep my lungs warm, it's a wonderful time to be alive.
Mixed news from Mom on the cancer--it's a little bit everywhere in her abdomen and a spot on her lungs. But it may still be the type that attacks the organ membranes. So the options are possibly chemo before surgery to try to remove some. Or topical chemo to attack the specific sites rather than iv chemo. Could be a lot worse, I must say.
surgery~ma for Grace.
ita, I hope there are answers for you.
I hope something works, Cashmere.
OK, this is the kind of thing I love about Boston: [link]
Good luck on the jobs, everyone! My company is hiring out the wazz right now, btw, if anyone is interested. We have hired remotely in the past so you never know!
I didn't have the spoons last night to make lasagne, but I started reviewing Yuletide source last night and now have three pages of notes, so I guess I'm okay with that trade-off.
I am trying not to glare at coworkers who are coughing disease vectors, but it's difficult to restrain my ire this morning.
