Natter 72: We Were Unprepared for This
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
An alarm you didn't set is the worst alarm, though.
I get pretty angry when I wake up on my own at 4:30, even when I don't get out of bed/wake up all the way!
I got a second call with the fancy potential job! And she can do it at 9, so I think I can do the call from home and then come in late.
Have a good interview, Jesse!
Good luck, Sue, that's pretty awesome.
Surgery~ma for Grace as always. I hate that that is almost a routine thing.
Sue, just let me know. DH is up at First Committee through tomorrow.
The cologne of this guy in my office inexplicably reminds me of Village Inn. It's not bad (I'm not choking on it like another IT dude's ) just odd. He walked in and Village Inn immediately came to mind. I haven't been to one in decades.
So little sleep last night.
Today's pain doc appointment is technically redundant, but I'm hoping to get a doctor in a room with me who can answer some questions. They've met with my neuro, maybe they know why non-treatment is the option, and then I will ask for what options I have on my own and how they recommend me getting through the next three or so weeks (two weeks after the next procedure are usually worse than what causes me to get the procedure in the first place...) on my own. What do I have to lose? Certainly not my cred as a patient patient.
Good luck, Jesse!
When you come back, I think this might be good for the tumblr:

And good luck, § ita §-- I hope they can come up with some options for you.
Me, I'm going to repot a plant, and do laundry, and straighten the house for the cleaners (who I keep meaning to cancel, since I have the time to clean my house myself these days). And then I'll decamp to a coffee shop and try to do some applications and networking. Sigh.
I'm over the fun part of unemployment, I fear: this is just depressing. Maybe I'll go to the mountains next week and do some hiking...
May they have a good answer for you, ita.
It is a chilly morning in Salt Lake City. The walk to the office (1,100 steps - I counted) was crisp but nice. Then I got to the office building and the combo of very warm air plus someone's heavy perfume almost out my lungs into lock down mode. I seem to have coaxed them back into functionality before I ran into any of my coworkers. I'm hoping the rest of my day is better than those 10 minutes of panic.
Consuela, my advice is to get involved with a networking/jobseeking group of some kind, so you can report on your activity, get congratulated, and offer sage advice and encouragement to other job-seekers. I know you're networking pretty steadily through your professional contacts, but casting a slightly wider net might yet pay off, and even if it didn't, getting involved will be good for getting through this phase.
I picked up a cold, so I went to the office, picked up my laptop, set my out of office email, and came home. Now I'm watching Lilo and Stitch while the cat takes advantage of my lack of motion.
I hope ou get some useful information from the doctor, ita.
