No. You're missing the point. The design of the thing is functional. The plan is not to shoot you. The plan is to get the girl. If there's no girl, then the plan, well, is like the room.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ugh, I really like the idea of singing with this chorus, but rehearsals from 7-9:30 every Monday kills me. I don't think I'll re-up next semester. Too bad I'm so lazy! Too bad there's no chorus with rehearsal at noon on Sunday or something.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Sox, what's your answer?

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Argh. I have a UTI and a massive toothache. This has not been a good day.

(is also curious about Sox's answer)

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

One of the cleaning crew, E, apparently was really distressed last week about me not being in, and wanted my home address to send me a thank you card (his supervisor had to remind him that it was a "get well" card) and then insisted that my colleague take his home address so I could send it to him, upon which he was reminded that handing out that info wasn't a good habit to get into. E is so freaking sweet. I need to get him some roses, since they're his favourite.

Chiro is not happy with my foot progress. Top-of-the-foot pain is not part of the healing process, apparently.

ION, Halloween costume is in the mail, so I don't have to dress like a hippy for this Saturday's party. I'm aiming for a guest at Jareth's party from The Labyrinth. So I have a scaramouche mask and ordered a pirate hat and a Sexy Pirate costume that I'll modify. One of these years I'll succeed in my goal in making an Owl!Jareth costume. Not that anyone will get it. But, damn it, I wanna be the goblin king!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I've managed to get into an argument with an Obamacare troll over whether the mortgage holder or the bank owns a house. My pointing out commonly understood phrases such as "repossession" and "owning free and clear", and the fact that the mortgage holder owes property taxes doesn't seem to convince him. His opinions about Obamacare seem similarly specious. :-)

Mostly I'd just keep my lip buttoned, but I wanted to see how far the guy would take it. It certainly exposed some flaws in his thinking.

But not being in my own topic (it was Bruce Coville's topic, and the troll started the argument when Bruce mentioned he'd be saving $300/mo under the Obamacare health exchange) perhaps I really shouldn't have, but damn when somebody is being that stoooopid....

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

A garden club had rented the house for a meeting/workshop, and I opened the house for them and pointed out where the tables and chairs were, and the finance administrator later pulled out the projector screen for them and the two ladies setting up seemed quite happy. But after the whole thing was over, the one lady who was supposed to help them set up but showed up late complained about how there had been no staff to set up and that it had been agreed that we would do it for them and that the space was too small.

My theory is that, since she dropped the ball, she transferred the blame to us. She even got our ED involved. Meanwhile, all the ladies breaking down and cleaning up were all "we're fine! This was lovely!" while whiny lady is all "we're big donors and we don't think we'll be renting this facility again". When in fact, for their hundred dollar membership, they get one free rental, and if they'd come off the street to rent, they would have needed a membership fee plus several hundred more for the six hours they rented the place. Bite me, garden club lady.
