This is my boat. They're part of my crew. No one's getting left. Best you get used to that.

And for some reason that just triggered me to figure out what song was playing in the Royal Farms on Saturday night. Somehow related to one of the cashiers having a whole little dance routine to it.

....I don't understand my brain sometimes.

I have been shortlisted for a job in the The Hague. Next step written exam to further cull the herd of candidates. Cue excited flailing alternating with panicked flailing.

Ooh, that would be pretty awesome!

I do not want to fly to Denver in a middle seat. I also am not sure how I'm supposed to get everything I need done on time. And I don't get back from this visit until late Friday night...and have to leave again Sunday. Boo. But I am looking forward to next Thursday when I go on vacation for a couple days. Can't come soon enough.

Um, they just won the Nobel Peace Prize?

That much I know.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I have a sparkly multicolored zigzag line in my upper right field of vision. This is ... weird, in a festive sort of way. (I've never had a migraine, which was my first thought, and am feeling fine otherwise. It's not a stroke or anything, right?)

This sounds like my ocular migraines as well. I usually get them at this time of year when the heat first goes on. Drink lots of water and maybe look into a neti or a saline spray. That's what keeps mine away.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Very cool, Sue!

I had that once. I downed a bunch of caffeine and ibuprofen and eventually it faded. I'm very glad the head ache portion of the migraine seemed to skip me. I'm also very glad it hasn't returned in the seven or so years since.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

That's so cool, Sue. Will send much job~ma your way.

And here's the picture Casper drew of us as manga: [link] (I have no idea why I have long brown hair.)

I love it! And as for the brown hair, I've noticed that before with a couple of my friends who share their hair color with their child. The kids tend to read their own hair as blonde and their parent's hair as brown.

Work update: boss was happy to provide a sub for my classes for the rest of this week, so we are now working on getting that set up. I also need to talk to the palliative care nurse if I can.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Good. You need to take care of =you=, Burrell.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

The kids tend to read their own hair as blonde and their parent's hair as brown.

Or, as my sister once informed my mom, as "tree bark. " I'm not sure she ever quite got over that one.
