I have a killer chocolate stout cake recipe.
That sounds delicious (I'm a big fan of beer brownies), but our theme this month is apples. I'm thinking Caramel-Apple Cheesecake Bars, even though it's a Paula Deen recipe. (The original website I saw these on didn't credit her, but also didn't have a decent print recipe function, so I googled and lo, there it was.)
But now I need to come up with something else to make for the actual event.
Why not the same again? Spoilers?
Why not the same again? Spoilers?
Exactly!
I love the whole idea of cake spoilers.
I am fucking tired of this Congress. How soon can we get a new one? Can we hold national special elections?
Yeah, but because you are the company bake-off, everything the company bakes is gluten free!

Okay, that's true. I'm down with these. Although I live with a freeloader (also known as "Tim") who eats my gluten-free baked goods. It's like he's married to me, or something.
Relatedly, all of my "cooking" today has consisted of (1) cutting celery into sticks, and (2) making oatmeal boil over in the microwave, which is horrible to clean.
I would like some Bachelor Chow.
Also (and this is a diamond-shoes-too-tight thing, I'm aware), I talked to my coordinator at the AMA today, and after I sign my contract for editing, I officially start on November 1. The diamond-shoes-too-tight thing is that I know I should wait until November 1 (or, at the VERY least, until the contract is signed and returned) to update LinkedIn, but I want to do it NOW. It makes me feel all employed and shit.
I think I've worked out "tita's less unhealthy pie pastry" which is a blend of CI recipes. Got two pieces chilling, and then I'll stew up the filling in a little for a pie for work tomorrow.
I don't know if I'll make me an apple pie again next. Does blueberry require any pastry changes? Are they often done with a top layer? I need a top layer...
