I think they also changed the colors recently. I liked the old plates better.

Aw, one of my best friends just gave notice at the job she's been at for the last 17 years. First time in 17 years she doesn't have to work holiday retail! And it's because one of her political contacts is hiring her as his office manager/paralegal-trainee. They've worked many a campaign together and he's been really really really invested in her getting to follow her real interests. Current job has gotten to be pretty dysfunctional, which enabled her to think about jumping ship (she's the primary breadwinner, so not something she took lightly.)
I'm so fucking happy for her.
OMG, Fall Out Boy was on Ellen last week, and I may have never seen anything cuter than Patrick Stump singing with kid backup singers.
Nothing cuter.
At another point in the show, Patrick Stump and Pete Wentz shoot bows and arrows to raise money and dump water all over Patrick Dempsey. It was fantastic.
Ellen is my faaaaavorite right now.
I think I need to go watch both again.
I always laughed when people, on hearing that I was going to Hawaii, would ask me what kind of money they used. really? Really? REALLY?
So my arm hurts because I had my TB test and my flu shot today. Double puncture fun!
Felicia Day's hair is very cute! I feel vindicated in my short-hair-havingness.
I've given up on covering the gray. Or the grey. Fuck the assholes who don't want to hire me for being old: I look so.much.better. with the grey.
Revised my resume again and sent it off to the recruiter with a straitforward discussion of how I could be awesome for that job. Guess we'll see. I just hope it isn't in San Ramon, or something: I haven't had to drive to work since 1996.
Is "wake up and smell the roses" a thing people say?
Your grey is gorgeous, Consuela, whatever vowel you use to spell it. Good luck with the recruiter.
Stop and smell the coffee.
I thought it was stop and smell the roses.
I thought that was what Juliebird was conveying.
That's what I thought, too. There's a Glade commercial that's confusing me. Doesn't exactly have the same meaning, does it?
