There's more than one way to skin a cat. And I happen to know that's factually true.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Did you guys (read: Hec) see Felicia Day's new haircut? She looks fab.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I really like it.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

OMG, Fall Out Boy was on Ellen last week, and I may have never seen anything cuter than Patrick Stump singing with kid backup singers. [link]

No, no you haven't seen anything cuter. Okay, I think Patrick Stump is kind of adorable anyway, but that performance just slew me.

Sad thing from the TJ's parking lot: An NM license plate, and it says "New Mexico USA." Because people are idiots.

Been that way most of my life. I vaguely remember when they went to a bigger font for the USA part. As if it weren't clear enough. In NM Magazine, there's a long running column titled "One of Our Fifty is Missing" composed of stories people share about having to educate others on NM's statehood. Late 70s, my grandparents in Illinois had many an arguments over whether international postage was required when mailing presents to us. I remember friends of cousins in MN asking what I thought of the US. And being surprised I spoke english so well.

So yeah, we're used to it.

I can't believe I never noticed that before. Possibly I've never seen a NM plate? Either that or I just forgot.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

That's a cute haircut.

I need to tend to my hair soon, but I'm feeling OK about my grooming having read an article recently that said fuller "natural" eyebrows are back. Go me! My sloth is being rewarded. All I had to do is wait 30 years for full eyebrows to make a comeback.

I think they also changed the colors recently. I liked the old plates better.

Aw, one of my best friends just gave notice at the job she's been at for the last 17 years. First time in 17 years she doesn't have to work holiday retail! And it's because one of her political contacts is hiring her as his office manager/paralegal-trainee. They've worked many a campaign together and he's been really really really invested in her getting to follow her real interests. Current job has gotten to be pretty dysfunctional, which enabled her to think about jumping ship (she's the primary breadwinner, so not something she took lightly.)

I'm so fucking happy for her.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

OMG, Fall Out Boy was on Ellen last week, and I may have never seen anything cuter than Patrick Stump singing with kid backup singers.

Nothing cuter.

At another point in the show, Patrick Stump and Pete Wentz shoot bows and arrows to raise money and dump water all over Patrick Dempsey. It was fantastic.

Ellen is my faaaaavorite right now.

I think I need to go watch both again.
