Went outside, and it was a mistake -- there's a street fair on my street! And it was worse a block away. Yikes. Hiding back in the house again.
Ugh, yesterday our neighbor's dog bit our other neighbor's 7 year old. As far as I know (we were not home and the parents were not present), E. was walking her doll carriage down the sidewalk and neighbor M. was unloading groceries and the dog got out and just ran up and bit E. She has 12 puncture wounds on her upper arm, through her shirt, and they think it will scar.
What do you do with a dog like that? Is M. obliged to have it put down? Our kids are out on the sidewalk all the time; M. is not home much, as far as I can tell.
The Saints look like Jilli dressed them today.
flea,
first, what are your city guidelines? I think the dog needs to be quarantined and assessed. If they don't keep the dog indoor all the time and on a leash all the time, they may have to put the dog in another home and/or put down.

Not quite the right shade of pink.
Well, no. But they do have a fleur-de-lis, right?
They do! And I would love to see them with some cupcake pink accents.
I toured a church yesterday that had fancy stained glass windows full of symbolism, among them a pelican and several fleur-de-lis, so I was all "Secret Louisianians!"
According to the city ordinance, a lot seems to hinge of what constitutes "severe injury." If it's a severe injury, the neighbors can call the cops and have the dog impounded, and a hearing has to be held.
Pretty scary, flea.
