I am the only one on my floor besides my boss today, since it's the Friday before Thanksgiving. I am bored out of my mind and I want to go home!

Natter 72: We Were Unprepared for This
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
We are halfway to our destination. Our destination where we were supposed to be yesterday night. We will get there about 7:30pm tonight.
Good news! Monday's return tickets that were erased by the gate attendant yesterday when he rebooked us have been restored and we can do this again soon.
My boss popped into my office with and hour and fifteen minutes left to go in the day to say I could sneak out! And then someone emailed me with an urgent question that has to be answered. But I will get out a little early at least.
Sometimes I think the only control we have over our lives is what stories we tell ourselves
I wouldn't say it's the only control, but the stories we tell have enormous power over us.
Speaking of, had an interesting parenting challenge yesterday. One of Isaac's play mates lied to another child (younger than the my son and his friend) that Isaac had threatened him, and at first the boy believed it. Isaac was super upset, so I suggested he speak to the younger boy and let him know it was a lie. Turns out what the first kid told him was that Isaac said he'd "pull down his pants and sit on him and stick his wiener in his face." OMFG are you serious?!? Isaac's eyes nearly popped out of his face when he heard that. Mine did too. And I knew it was a lie because Isaac doesn't talk like that. Shit.
So Isaac and the younger boy worked it out (I think), and I called the other boy's mom to let her know. I find that an oddly sexual taunt coming from such a young kid.
That other kid has a real future in politics.
Yeah, not to be whatever, but that kid has had some exposure to some inappropriate stuff, don't you think?
That's what I'm thinking.
In a bit of Friday awesomeness,I offer this: [link]
I'd be worried if my son HAD said that, that's why I notified the other boy's mom.
Oddly enough, I don't worry when my son runs around the house naked, but that's in part because I know he doesn't contemplate running around the school that way.
That is a little disturbing, Burrell. Not the naked part, the part about what the other kid said. Graphically sexual remarks from really little kids always worry me.
