It would mute the barking, but I think it might increase the stress to be shut away from me and the people he wants to bark at.

Today's the day I hand my alley kittens over to their new owner. So of course they both became clingy (well, relatively) purr machines when I went home at lunch to check on them. I'm going to miss the affection even as I luxuriate in being able to sleep through the night and not have to scoop a litter box twice a day.

FWIW, Ian-the-iguana-guy is hellaciously charming and smart. He's one of those guys who actually knows how to flirt in a respectful yet fun manner, so you might be surprised what could come of stopping to admire his little pet.

Am I crazy to think that if I like this, [link] I should instead buy a cheap actual wood table off craigslist and paint it? I have seen one with the same basic shape for $50, but couldn't deal with transport.
That's what I would do. I've seen postings on Craigslist that said they would deliver for mileage. You could ask the poster.
