You were very nearly devoured by a giant demon snake. The words 'let that be a lesson' are a tad redundant at this juncture.

hip deep in pie

Business attire!

Boo! At least it's not business casual?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Silly or sensible?

Sensible.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yay Kate! Successful negotiation!

Because books.

Yay Kate!

Lee, would putting him in the bedroom with the door closed and the TV on work?

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Yay Kate!

I am kinda charmed by that resume, but like Sophia, I hire undergrads.

Oh, update on my sister: she seems to be emerging from her fugue state, so that's good. Overall prognosis is less good, but I'm learning to not fixate on the overall prognosis.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Am I crazy to think that if I like this, [link] I should instead buy a cheap actual wood table off craigslist and paint it? I have seen one with the same basic shape for $50, but couldn't deal with transport. But it could be worth it to hire movers, depending.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

He could go on his way thinking, "if only I had a pet iguana, that hot chick would talk to me."

Using chickbait means it's less likely that he'd think that.

ita, have you seen this? Maybe you posted it and I missed it? It's totally a link worthy of you.

It's sad how many things I'd read that fell into the same category before I got into fandom--before I got into my twenties, even. That's been a me link for thirty years...

I just got into the weirdest "we're so fucked!" IT argument outside the restrooms for twenty minutes. My GOD my foot hurts. Politically dodgy, plus my combatant wants to go for drinks with me now.

Another co-worker whose name I only just learnt thinks I'm a beautiful person inside and out and wants me to call her instead of getting up for stuff. I don't want to break her heart.

Kate, congrats! I've never pulled that off!

Now to go back to IO9 and see how someone combative responds to the "please never have this discussion with someone you give a fuck about, tho" gambit. ::sigh::

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

If he likes it there it sounds like a good plan.

Jesse, do zip car and whatnot have trucks where you are? I know they do here, my roommate used one (a pickup, not like a u-haul) to get iKEA stuff.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Lee, would putting him in the bedroom with the door closed and the TV on work?

It would mute the barking, but I think it might increase the stress to be shut away from me and the people he wants to bark at.
