Well, personally, I kind of want to slay the dragon.

As for me, today's the first day of unemployment (again). Overslept and now I'm going to take the dog for a long run. I've been putting on some weight and my jeans are getting tight, and this shit needs to stop.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Amy, I am sorry. You are NOT old or irrelevant; you are smart and savvy. They missed out on a good thing.

That didn't need to be said twice.

Always Anti-fascist!

Eh, maybe they ran the ad looking for somebody really specific.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Often the person doing the hiring already knows who they intend to hire, but put in the ad and do interviews and go through a charade so they have a paper trail for HR>

information libertarian

My workplace turns out to be the type of workplace that debuts a new website look and feel at 11:15 on a Monday with no advance warning. Who's surprised? Not those of us who already knew that my workplace is the sort of workplace that has a locked door to the admin suite (which includes both HR and the staff copy machine for large jobs), so you have to call on the phone and be buzzed in. (We all wear badges that unlock doors to staff areas in the building. Except this door.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm sorry, Amy. This has no bearing on your ability to do those things well, I want you to understand. Please don't feel dissuaded from trying for a job you want doing something you want to do for people you want to do it for. I wish I believed people always got what they deserved, but I want you to get that, and fiercely.

I am at a bit of a work dead end, and I wish that instead of silently declining a two person meeting, the other would-be attendee would tell me why she's declining so I can stop rescheduling like a plaintive suitor. I do want her input, and if she can't give it today, I need to be told that.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

That made me go look, and -- noooooooooooooo! It looked fine before! I barely survived the redesign of the catalog (which I have grudgingly accepted), but -- whyyyyyyyy?

(I hate change.)

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I hate end of month. End of month with 2 of your co-workers out at a charity golf event for "vendor relations" makes me wanna punch people. grrr.

That means no phone support, so less time to my month end closing things. FEH.
