My fever abated during the night, but I still have a monster headache and feel icky. I have no idea what this is.

I'm trying to take the attitude that they simply found someone really suited, who hasn't been on the sidelines of the industry for a while, but it's sort of translating into "you are old" and "all your experience is now irrelevant".
BUT. I did write 500+ words of a new project this morning, so that's a good thing.

All my sympathies, Amy. I know how it feels, to be turned down for jobs you know you can do. It's hard, because the market is flooded with applicants, and employers can afford to be ridiculously picky. If they want a left-handed writer with exactly 12.7 years of experience, and green eyes, they can find them.
It's not a slam on your abilities, but on the fact that we're competing with a ton of other equally-qualified people.
