Death is your art. You make it with your hands day after day. That final gasp, that look of peace. And part of you is desperate to know: What's it like? Where does it lead you? And now you see, that's the secret. Not the punch you didn't throw or the kicks you didn't land. She really wanted it. Every Slayer has a death wish. Even you.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

The prices are high, but the shoes are definitely good value -- I wear mine day in, day out, and they hold up very well. (I also don't buy a lot of shoes, so I don't mind paying more for a decent pair when I need them.) I bought one pair in 2003 or 2004, and they lasted until my honeymoon in 2011 -- and even then, the only reason I had to dump them was that they had been so thoroughly damp for so long that they were starting to get moldy. Bought a replacement pair last year and I love them; like I said, I barely wear any other shoes. They're comfy, durable, and cute, and well worth the money I paid for them.

You could. But that would make you crazy with their wrong headedness.

Uh-oh, Pix. Walk away! It's not worth your time or sanity!

And speaking of walking away... I love you all, but I've chosen darkness bedtime.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

What does the sentence "half the population was decimated" even supposed to mean??? Within context it's nu-decimation, but still--I can't tell if that means almost half the people died (MASSIVE) or like a quarter (pretty fucking bad, but not a half, you know). LANGUAGE. WORDS.

brillig

It just doesn't make any sense to rent a car when I go to SLC. The light rail takes me from the airport to a block from work and a block from the hotel and there are lots of restaurants in between.

Suzi, double check the times that the rail runs, Utah has a weird relationship with public transit, as in it's believed that "those" people ride it and doesn't need to be convenient to normal people.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Aw. I wanted to ask how you were doing.

Suzi, double check the times that the rail runs

I kinda wondered about that, but earlier this week the times worked out perfect for me. And I think on the trains were the only time I saw any diversity. Sad.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

I was going to suggest Propet as a (cuter) alternative to Dansko, but the pair Kate linked are totally cute! But, just in case:
