He paid for 3 groomsmen to fly out and be part of the wedding. They decided to BAIL and take a vacation. Never showed up to the wedding!
WTF?!? That is the weirdest and shittiest thing I've heard re: a wedding. Who does that, for one, who does that to a friend, to a wedding, but who does that with someone who is in theory a close enough friend to be a groomsman?!?!
I really am halfway serious about the suing thing. If they took the money and used it for something else, they pretty much stole from him.
Are you kidding? So they used the tickets but didn't come to the wedding?!
That is beyond rude and veering into criminal.
Right? I am gobsmacked! And I agree with Dana actually. Since they are from out of town, he could file small claims in his own state and get a judgment against them.
I have trouble especially believing that *three* guys did that. Not in the sense that I think it did not happen but that all three of them said "yeah lets use the tickets but not show up for the wedding". Not one of them objected or said "you guys do what you want but my word is not garbage?" Tic Tac Toe, three asshats in a row.
Typo, you have trouble believing in three assholes? Knowing three assholes? Trusting three guys with impulse control issues and poor judgement?
Suing sounds about right, but I also wonder if it's not the groom who's the asshole.
So I just found out that to get out of my lease, I had to give three months' notice AND pay a penalty. Shit, man.
Jesse, that's ridiculous! How is giving three months notice getting out of a lease? Can you sublet or something? When is it actually up?
When do you want to leave, Jesse?
I also wonder if it's not the groom who's the asshole
I have a hard time believing he can be the only asshole in that scenario. If he's Pol Pot, maybe you take the tickets and run. Or maybe you never agree to be in the wedding at all, you know?
There is my skepticism.
I have a 1 on 1 with the CIO next week (I hope to be able to sit upright for a full day before then), and HR promises to find my boss by the end of the day. Woohah? I cannot, however, find the inputs for the output I'm committed to.
So I'm working on timesheets. That is what I've come to. But doing them during work hours is new, especially since I don't know how to book my timesheet filling time.
