It looks like Teppy has a good chance of getting the wedding weather she wanted! It's forecast for high 60s/low 70s all day, and while it's raining now, it's supposed to clear up around 1pm. Go away, horrible humidity!

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I am sad we will miss George Takei leading the world's largest chicken dance at Oktoberfest today, though. Also, UC (which my ENTIRE family went to) is playing Miami (where I went) today. There should be some hilarious sports taunting going on.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yay Ginger fund! I'm so glad.

Largest chicken dance? That's so Midwest.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I had another streak of night wakefulness, this mostly because I was aching really badly. Or maybe it was the full moon...

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Yay, the Ginger goal has been reached!

Yay!

Happy Birthday smonster!

Happy Birthday Sophia!

Jackson came out of hiding as soon as I turned the lights off, and kept me up half the night meowing plaintively anytime I wasn't petting him. (Upside, he's MUCH more affectionate after his trauma). And he figured out the litterbox all on his own without needing any prompting from me.

This morning the little Benedict Arnold helped me lure his sister up the stairwell and into my apartment, so now both he and Molly are nosing around the place trying to familiarize themselves. I think they'll do far better together than separately, so maybe after a week or so of indoor living I'll be able to present them as a matched set to the guy who called dibs on Jackson.

It's a good day for birthdays and weddings and community-gifting!

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Happy wedding day, Steph!

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Whee, I love wedding spoilers!

I am spoiled as all hell for this wedding, but it hasn't diminished my pleasure in it one bit.

Tep, that's a gorgeous bouquet. Billions of blessings and joys (and well-behaved relations [except your brother, who seems to be at his best when he's off-center and snarking (these nesting parentheses are just for you)]) to you and Tim today and always.

Happy birthdays, smonster and Sophia! Sophia originally uttered my first ever Buffy-related tagline ("I was surprised when they ate the pig, but I was shocked when they ate the principal") and I remember being all shy about asking permission because it was already a community and everyone seemed so cool.
