It took one of my parents' cats a week to even deign to come into her favorite room if I was in it.
I thought I'd posted earlier, but apparently not. Woohoo! Tep! PS, were you aware you're getting hitched tomorrow??
ita & le n, blearg.
I'd like to declare this week dead and gone. It just kept giving and giving and giving...of the most horrible sort.
It was in the pre-cameraphone era, but when Chumley went to stay at Camp Mom (my mother's house) for a couple months, he tried to hide under a cabinet with only about three inches clearance of the floor. Which meant he could only get his head and a bit of shoulders underneath.
He stayed like that for the better part of three hours.
This is a little weird, but one thing someone suggested to me with Darb was to read to her out loud. Like, sit kind of close, don't look at all and read something out loud. It was incredibly soothing to me and seemed okay to her. Though sitting on the floor reading SPN fic out loud was a little odd.
t,
thank YOU for the gold star. man.
It took a couple of months to get my semi-feral girls to trust me. They were perfectly content to hide for hours on end. I would occasionally seek them out, talk to them and just touch their feet or let them sniff my hand. It was a long process.
Except when I went to bed. They slept on top of me from the first night. Goofballs.
Hey, I'm in overtime now! Woo! I think this one day of tv work is going to buy me some new glasses.
I at least managed to get my uncertainness validated by the business floor. My job next week is more impossible, not less, but at least I have people who will listen.

I think that sleeping near cats makes them trust you. They're predators, they know no one falls asleep in the presence of an enemy.
Ugh ita, you don't need more impossibilities.
I think at first they just thought the human was off when the lights were off. Some kind of kitten logic extrapolated from the lights at the shelter turning off when the humans left.
