We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Oh, god, someone tell me I'm not going to die?

I woke up at 4 AM this morning with my head spinning--almost literally. I couldn't keep my eyes from jerking back & forth. Cancelled my morning run, went back to bed. Realized I couldn't sleep on my side because that made the spinning worse.

Got up at 10 to spend a while on the bathroom floor, joy. Back to bed. Head still spinning, and I can only move Very Very Cautiously. My sister, bless her, stopped by with Coke & applesauce, and cleaned my kitchen.

And my brother the doctor called & thinks it might be viral labrynthitis, which Wikipedia tells me can last a week, and then might need months of PT to recover from. (!!!)

All this on a week when I'm supposed to do a part-time professional gig for one of my old bosses. I was going to be paid! And I have a breakfast interview on Wednesday. And now I can't even make it to the bathroom without hanging onto the doorsills.

I could do with a much more peaceful and unexciting life at the moment, I'm just saying.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

flea, you have my sympathies.

Matt, you have my heh heh heh.

Okay, and now reading B.org is making the motion-sickness worse, so it's back to flat on my back and listening to an audiobook...

I do hope everyone here is having a better day than I am...

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Oof, Consuela. Sounds a bit like the vertigo that megan walker had. Maybe check with her?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, crap, Consuela, I'm sorry! I don't know what that might be but I hope it passes soon.

hip deep in pie

Something similar happened to me a couple of years ago Consuela. Fortunately for me, it only lasted a day. I was okay if I remained perfectly still, but if I moved at all, oy. I hope it clears up soon.

Flea, I hope you have a fit free night soon.

Matt's afternoon sounds lovely. And I'm not even interested in threesomes.

Consuela, I hope whenever you read this, the lines are stable.

I hate vacuuming.

I actually don't. Now, my 2.5 hour odyssey to get the floors so clean you could eat from them (for the next 30 minutes until a cat walks through) does absolutely jack shit for the dust on all the other surfaces. And there are a lot of other surfaces. And I tend to clutter, even though it drives me nuts. I still need to put away all the mountains of paperwork that the refi generated. Nevermind my magazine problem.

Margarita vacuuming and mopping is still highly recommended. Though you should probably have more food in you before you start (one empanada, a pot of tea, and a lot of water, plus a two mile swim? Yeah, there was nothing in me.)

I'm klutzy. I have crazy cats. I have pale, easily insulted skin. I can bruise my shin kneeling on it getting out of the pool. Throw in certain times of the month where I'm even MORE klutzy AND I bruise even more easily? I've been pulled aside and asked if I need help. Luckily the people at the pool believe me now.

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

Consuela, it could be random vertigo, which, as Sue said, can last a day or so. Do you get migraines? My mother gets migraines whose only symptom is vertigo. No head pain, to sensitivity to light, etc. Just vertigo. And in her case, she takes Ativan for it and it abates in about a day.

Fingers crossed this is very short-lived vertigo.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I vacuumed a whole lot today. I swear, some of the rugs are now different colors than when I started.

Still have to do the living room, though.

Brother & family arriving tomorrow late aft./evening, and yes, they're going to a B&B nearby, but still.
