The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Plus, I bet they don't have decent Tex-Mex there.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Yay good boob news and dental experiences!

I'll have to check my local TJs for pumpkin bread and stock up. I made it for my sister's visit last fall, and I thought she'd lick the plate. Lovely stuff.

Art Crawl!!!

New Brunswick couple found their horse on the roof . . you know "horse on roof" isn't a problem I bet most homeowners (or horseowners) prepare for.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Lee has provided the deciding vote, with shrift a close second. No moving to Saudi Arabia for me.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I'm definitely applying for the West Point job, once I finish getting all my application materials together. Nearly finished with my teaching statement. Barely looked at my research statement, since I've barely done any research since the last time I edited it, but I know that I can at least improve the section on how I can supervise undergrads in related research. Need to edit my CV, but that won't take too long. Still need a few more letters of recommendation.

Oh, hey, academic folk, I need advice. I need to get one or two more letters of recommendation about my teaching. Two years ago, one of the professors in my department observed one of my classes and wrote up a summary of the visit, which was very complimentary. I don't really know her, though. Is it appropriate to email her and ask if she could write me a letter of recommendation?

information libertarian

Yes, I think so. You would probably want to remind her that she visited your class and attach the summary, to refresh her memory if necessary.

Somehow, I feel like I should be saying "IN YOUR FACE", but I'm not sure if it would be to shrift or Saudi Arabia.

In completely other news, ah man, my cold meds just wore off, and it's too soon to take more.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I'm mainlining Zinc, Echinacea, C, Mucinex, Echinacea tea, and water.

Also, ibuprophen PM, because my neck still hurts. Which has led to family drama anxiety dreams where I disown my older brother and they all turn against me, which is weird, because said brothr is the fuck up that we're all smiling and nodding at as he plans his wedding.

Almost went shopping as a way to stave off the boredom, but then remembered that shopping makes me exhuasted on a good day (but, mom! I want new clothes!).

Thanks. Now, I just wish I had at least one letter of recommendation that talked about my research, but I'm not sure that I can get that, since I've barely done any research the past few years.
