"He was a nice guy, but more importantly, too well-steeped in pop culture to wander off through the woods after a bittersweet party. That took us all by surprise. You think you know a guy, and then...boom! You find he has habits you couldn't even dream of sharing.
"But we would have listened--we just didn't hear what he was so desperately screaming. At least he didn't take that new guy (virgin) he'd developed a crush on. Small mercy, given the tragedy, but it's all we have to hold onto right now."
Bwah! But I must protest; the last guy I had a crush on may have been inappropriately young for me, but he definitely wouldn't have met the unicorn/untouched sacrifice standard even before I got my hands on him...
Timelies all!
Posting from the breakfast buffet at the hotel. Housefilk last night was fun. Good food, good music and a friendly cat.
I woke up inappropriately early (5-ish), sat at the computer for an hour but wisely refrained from caffeine, then decided to try laying flat on the bed for a while... and boom out like a light, dreaming even. I guess I needed those extra 5-ish hours....
Mmm, extra sleep. I broke my diet to have a slice of congratulatory cake last night, and the sugar rush hit my system like crystal meth. Awake until 2, up like a shot at 5:15, and now I'm debating whether to catch a nap or just power through and turn in early after watching Hugh Jackman be deadly and shirtless this afternoon.
You don't want to fall asleep in the movie, is my concern on that decision.
Gah, I have more one than one day's worth of stuff that should be done today. Hopefully the stuff that absolutely must get done today will be doable. I'm not entirely confident about that at the moment.
Wow Matt. One slice of cake did all that?
Probably the excitement from seeing bunches of old friends contributed too, but it's the first sugar I've had in two months that wasn't in the form of small servings of berries or grapes.
Scratch the moviegoing plans, I just got an invite to hang out at the pool of the couple I had a
ménage à trois
with early last year. Hugh will just have to wait.
I'm sure Hugh would understand, being the gracious gentleman he is.
He's welcome to show up if he feels left out; I'm sure my hosts wouldn't object.
