Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Can't see the needlework picture, Steph. Are we flickr friends?

My shin found the footstool that has been in the same place it always has been.

2.5 hours later, I still wish I had just gone back to bed.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Meanwhile, most of the amusement park area and boardwalk in Seaside Heights burned down. (That's where Trudy saw dolphins, not that I'm jealous. ) This is after being rebuilt this spring after it was flattened by Superstorm Sandy. I weep (figuratively) for a childhood icon the second time which seems wrong.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, that's terrible. A friend of mine lives close by, and had an awful picture of the smoke over the water.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Oh, that's awful. How sad.

Because books.

The pictures really are awful.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Oh, Jesus, that's terrible. LAY OFF NEW JERSEY UNIVERSE!

So I went out last night with a bunch of the folks I worked with for the last six years, and it was really nice to be reminded that even there, I did have people who respected my ability. Unfortunately the chances of actually getting hired back are slim, since the same old veterans-preferences thing still seems to control. But they're fun guys, and it was a good time.

And one of my oldest work friends, who I've known since 1999, told me that his daughters had gotten him back into rock-climbing, and we should get together and climb, which would be awesome.

And now I need to get off my ass and get to work, since this report is due at COB today and I have to leave early to take Dad to an appointment...

First I post in the wrong thread, and then I double-post! Yikes, world.
