Fred: So you don't worry that it's possible for someone to send out a biological or electronic trigger that effectively overrides your own sense of ideals and values and replaces them with an alternative coercive agenda that reduces you to a mindless meat puppet? Shopkeeper: Wow. People used to think that I was paranoid.

brillig

Modern royal families are like Game of Thrones without the bloodshed. Medieval royal families were like Game of Thrones with the bloodshed. You just have to imagine that the occasional thought of "a dagger would be so useful right about now" goes through a royal head.

msbelle, I'm sorry about the unwanted ac replacement.

Me, I'm getting mental refreshing the WF accounts because it took until this afternoon for the new mortgage to show up on it. Except, the old mortgage is still there and not paid off. Which, I know there's a lag, but closing was LAST monday, and the damned money is changing hands within THE SAME INSTITUTION. GET IT TOGETHER ALREADY.

I'm sure it will be fine, but looking at a statement that I have a quarter million in loan is freaking me out.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I was wondering earlier -- is this the first time that there's been a 4-generation line of succession for royals? Baby WhatsHisRoyalName may have a long time to prepare.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

You just have to imagine that the occasional thought of "a dagger would be so useful right about now" goes through a royal head.

Goes through my head occasionally too.

Punishingly Intricate

(I'm sure there are but I don't feel like looking it up but...) are there any other Ethelred's other than the Unready?

Because that doesn't seem like one you'd want to name your kid after.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Recap: So I stayed up to 2:30 this morning to get some documents to two different people so they would be on the people's desk at 8 this morning. Went to sleep, but was awakened by damn fighting dogs at 7:30 this morning.

I have not heard from one of the people at all today, the other person I just heard from.

Why again did I bust my ass to get this stuff out? I feel like an asshole.

hip deep in pie

From the twitter, there seems to be a huge storm over London tonight. So now I'm hoping the baby gets called Thunder.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Best Storm cosplay ever!

Though, of course, I would've preferred Mohawk!Storm.

Also: Wash. ::sniff::
