"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Happy Happy Trudy!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

ita !, I've watched about ten minutes of the R&I season finale, and Lee is still there. I was worried about that, too.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I'm sorry that I didn't think to come here immediately on 9/11 -- I did later in the day, but it would have been good to share earlier.

And I didn't even think to start calling family until after 11 AM. And all the lines to NJ were jammed, so it was hours before I could get through. Not that I was worried about family, though there was an infinitesimal likelihood that somebody might have decided that of all days to go visit NYC, but that I knew my Mom would be worried about me in Boston.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I actually went in to work just to get my laptop so I could come here. It was so surreal standing on my rooftop watching the smoke from the Pentagon and all the people streaming away along 16th street.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Thank you. I'm interested in how they address his absence, but maybe not enough to watch. At the time, all I could think about was how much he smiled on the show. Watching after his death, it was every time he mentioned death and violence that hit me.

It's so not about the show. There's not much there there...

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Happy birthday, Trudy!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I like R&I because both leads are women, with lives, who are almost always the smartest people in the room, who are very different people but who are best friends anyway, who have sex and aren't shamed by anyone or by the writing for doing so. Nobody's sleeping with her boss, nobody's ducking a violent ex, and nobody's making wildly stupid romantic decisions upon which the plot turns. It's about the only procedural I follow any more.
