"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

sara, I keep meaning to confirm, but are you coming for thanksgiving? If not, we're going out of town, perhaps.

Your call. If you'd like to go out of town, I can make other arrangements. I think I have enough brain back to make plans either way.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

It's definitely when the priest says "The Lord be with you" -- possibly there's something specific you're supposed to say when passing the peace, but that's more ad hoc, IME.

I think it was fairly recent, since I remember hearing about it and being horrified.

Yeah, I think it was, too, but I know the last time I went to Mass with any regularity was 20 years ago, so.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I don't even remember hearing that line, but, probably more like 30 years for me, so I'll defer.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I am pretty sure it changed between Christmas 2011 and Christmas 2012.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I think that's "Peace be with you", Jesse, but that's a really old memory I'm accessing and trying to reverse engineer (I know I have the automatic "and also with you" response that is now defunct, but I'm not entirely certain what it is to, because those weren't my lines)

Heh. I could play the ignorant Protestant card and just go with "Thanks, you too!" and a big cheesy grin.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Is anyone else watching House Hunters right now? This woman looks like a Kristen Wiig character.

There's an Australia one with a Scottish woman who wants to be a model -- and is trying to pose seductively in every single shot. It's bananas. That one?

Can I just say, I love that Ylvis song like the next guy, but the reason it sounds so good is it's produced by the same people who produce number 1 singles for a living. It's not exactly a giant stroke of luck that this this caught fire and was made by the same producers of Firework and every Rihanna hit.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Today was a pretty good day - I drove to Little Rock and spent much of the afternoon at the Arkansas Arts Center looking at a bunch of Gainsborough paintings, a Frans Hals, a Turner, and a number of Rembrandts including this beauty, saw about 2/3 of Much Ado About Nothing (the projector bulb exploded just as the film started, and by the third breakdown I'd had enough and asked for a voucher, but it was OK as the movie was mainly a timekiller), and then had a wonderful meal here that included the only really good saganaki I've had in the last 9 years.
