You guys. I don't have anywhere else to say this (can't announce on Facebook yet because I have colleagues there) but our SVP of international regulatory affairs (my boss's boss) just told me officially that my position is now global, and I will have a staff in Oxford, UK and in Lyon, France (those offices could be rolled into the Oxford office eventually) and as of October 1, will be reporting to him.
I want to cry of happiness but it's all so surreal.

Thank god I know not to click on ita-related links at work.
Wow, java! That's awesome!!
New boss is talking of setting me up with an international exchange with a garden in England. V. exited.

Awesome! And well deserved.
Cool news, Juliebird!
Thanks, Jesse.
It's going to be a very strange weekend. Steve is getting in tonight, visiting from Philly for the weekend. And yesterday his company announced that they're selling the plant he runs (it's being sold back to Merck). So he's likely going to be laid off, and here I am with this kind of spectacular news. Ugh.
Juliebird, all of a sudden I am picturing you at one of those super fancy English flower garden shows. You are going to need a fabulous hat!

Wow! Congratulations!
I think there should be frequent office visits. Quarterly, perhaps? For proper co-ordination and supervision and inspections, that sort of thing.

There will be! He asked if travel will be an issue, and I said only my dogs have an issue with it. :P
That's also very cool, Juliebird! (I read too fast at first and just thought java was getting a yard over there....)
