My god, getting my parents out of the house on the morning is worse than getting us kids out the door for school back in the day. I've been ready to go for an hour.

I'm in the car moms gone back in still no dad...
Oh my.
I woke up this morning to news a good friend not only wrecked her car last night (at the least undercarriage damage) but she tripped seriously walking home after (it was only a couple blocks) and may have a broken foot....
I am somehow keeping a migraine at bay. (The farmer's market and all it's smells were a bad idea.) But won't go away. So I feel stuck in the house feeling nit quite right, but not really bad.
Oz got into a fight with the cat that looks like Hitler who insists on hanging out in our yard. They were under my neighbour's deck. After their first scrap, Oz had little cat Hitler cornered and they were having a growling, caterwauling standoff. (Actually I think Oz was doing all the growling and caterwauling.) I learned that my hose will not reach the deck. So I ran in the house, filled a plastic water bottle and flung it at them. So there are these two freaked out cats, (Hitler was pretty much trying to get away by now.) and me chasing them, flinging water. And people walking by looking at me as if I am totally crazy. Finally Hitler jumped the fence and ran off. After another 15 minutes of freaking out and turning on me, Oz finally was calm enough to pick him up and take him back inside.
It's amazing how he goes from 60 to zero in seconds. He's now sleeping off the adrenaline rush and I am wondering if whiskey on an empty stomach would be a bad thing.
A little while ago, I got to watch Charlie go into full on doggie play initiation behavior with Bubba.
It didn't work, but it was pretty darn adorable, and a good way to start the weekend.
Now though I have to get dressed and start my errands. Old Navy for vacation clothes, and then Costco.

Oh dogs, they are always so hopeful.
Waze is the only navigation ap I use at this point. I've used it for so long and so many miles that I am Waze royalty (my avatar gets to wear a crown). I am ridiculously pleased with the crown. But truly, it's invaluable, especially in a city like LA.
Am on a sailboat with tuna steaks and eggplant on the grill and a dog (not mine) on my lap. Doesn't get much better than this.
Ooh, I want to go to there. Instead, I just got home from the hospital, where my father is, after having a seizure in the middle of the night. And of course I didn't hear my mother call, because I was in my room with the a/c on, and my phone was not. Luckily, I woke up at 7.
We did still go to Home Depot, though! And made appointments for someone to go and measure, and for us to pick all the stuff. Of course, we went when we did because the doctor said my father would be getting an EEG and a room, and when we got back, none of that had happened. He still hasn't had the EEG.
Also, some people from my mother's church are moving into my grandmother's apartment today, because they aren't going back to China until next week or something, and their lease ended today.
Good times.

Oh no! I hope he's OK. What did you get measured for at Home Depot? Is this part of replacing the bathroom, or something else?
I just was startled by the doorbell ringing--I swung the door open assuming it was a package, and it was a friend of mine who was in the neighborhood and wanted to use my bathroom! Hah! We will probably go to the lake later, it's supposed to be warm here.
