Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I have gotten so when people talk about Blurred Lines, I get Got to Give It Up in my head.

...but then, who's got to give what up??

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I've never understood the people who think that they should get $90 for something that's $100 new.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I have to pat myself on the back because, while I may not have done the one work task that's been on my to-do list forever, I did delete or file more than 1000 emails today.

Could someone who understands taxes better than I explain something about the same sex IRS ruling? In Utah, you have to file your state taxes with the same category as you do your federal taxes. I can't file jointly as fed and single on my state. How do people who are legally married but not in the state they're living in get around that? Or is that a state by state thing?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Married same-sex couples in MA would file married to the state and single to the feds, so, essentially lying to the federal government. And I know at least one couple who manipulated stuff to their greatest advantage for the feds. (Like, the one with the least income claimed all the childcare expenses or whatever.)

I just walked around and told all my coworkers to leave if they aren't working. We are salaried! Nothing is happening! We are officially dismissed in 15 minutes! Why are we sitting here??

Of course, the simplest solution is "don't live in a state that doesn't recognize your marriages," but not everybody gets that option.

hip deep in pie

So I've come back form French class and everyone in me section has gone and they didn't leave me a note! Bastards!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Bastards!

Bâtards! Come on!

Ortho appointment in ninety minutes. And my phone will tell me when I need to leave to get there. Why won't it tell me to leave now, though? When can I get that Android upgrade?

I think everyone is nicer to me in the new job, even my old job. Old boss asked me to do old job next weekend, and I couldn't say no (only remotely qualified person is being mother of groom then). I got bounced back onto the support SWAT team, the analyst I fought with keeps coming over to visit (twice so far today), the guys in the new area are offering me all sorts of help and stuff.

Wait, maybe it's the foot and absence making the heart fonder. I shouldn't jump to conclusions. So to speak.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

having a good day at work today. The new Handbook, which I have been working on for two months is done! And Friday free lunch is Panda Express today.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I am having a TOO QUIET day at work, at least so far, which should mean I get my timesheets done, but instead means I am sitting here stressing out about how much I need to get done this weekend to get ready for vacation.

At least we get to leave early.

What are people doing this weekend?
