I took the dialect test again, since I answered some of the questions wrong. Dialect guesses:
Irish (Republic of)/ Canadian / US Black Vernacular / Ebonics
Native Lang: Norwegian/ English/ Dutch
I get the Irish, since most of the things I think are ungrammatical but acceptable are Newfoundland dialect things, but Norwegian??
Series of texts I just got from my father:
I will be held up for an hour or two. I blew a tire heading to my third target The other two targets while they said they did have it didn't. Anyway I am off the road in a parking lot on S. Howell Ave. in Oak Creek. I'll be on my way after AAA gets here and replaces the tire. Their text message said they would get here between 520 and 530.
Luckily it's a beautiful day so I can just chill out in this parking in The shade
Glad I left early so I wouldn't have to do this in the dark. That would be a bummer!!!
I feel like in the same circumstances my texts would have a lot more motherfucks.
Unsurprisingly, my dialect guesses are American/Canadian/
US Black Vernacular. Native language: English/Dutch/German.
Norwegian??
The ghost of Leif Erikson?
My actual good days have a lot more motherfucks. Challenging days with multiple stores that should have all had something and then a blow out? Substantially more.
I did however refrain today from using that exact phrasing at the dog park to a friend of an acquaintance who thought goading his two older dogs into rough play with my foster puppy was okay. I also refrained from motherfucking punching him. Was glad when he left motherfucking though. I could finally relax in my foldy chair under a tree and read for a while in glorious motherfucking peace.
I must have done something wrong with the dialect quiz because Singaporean was the first choice for dialect. Native language was Vietnamese Spanish and then English.
Weren't you a college student yourself when we started all this, Jess, or just barely done?
Daaaaaaaaaaaang. We've been at this a while.
I found the Buffistas on TT in late 2000 or early 2001, at one of my first temp jobs when I had run out of things to do and the internets were still somewhat shiny and new.
