Weren't you a college student yourself when we started all this, Jess, or just barely done?
Emmett is an awesome kid, big and brawny and goofy and broad-shouldered and willing to carry Matilda to bed each night and help her pick out the right dress to wear to his graduation ceremony (it's covered with hot air balloons). I am so ridiculously lucky and blessed to be a part of his life.
That's awesome. Congratulations to Emmett, and to his family.
Good news on the interview, ita.
Is he excited about college? What kind of a program is he entering? (forgive me if I should know this, mind like sieve you know)
He's cautiously excited about college. Not as gung ho to go as I was. He loves his friends in High School. He told me I couldn't look at his Yearbook because of things people wrote about him but I took peek anyway. He's well loved by his friends in return.
He's interested in kinesiology, and Sonoma State has a good program for it. Most importantly for him, Sonoma State was voted as having the best college dorm rooms in the country. Woot! One of their townhouse suites shared by 6 students.
It's a pretty campus, and while he won't play on the college baseball team (which is Div 2), they have a club team that he wants to play for.
It's only an hour away, so far enough away to avoid drop-ins, but close enough for Matilda to visit and vice versa.

That's a dorm? Daaaaaang.

Since it's in wine country and gets a lot of monetary support from the wine industry, all the residential villages are named after wines and territories.
There's a good chance he'll wind up in Zinfandel village.
That sounds ideal! It is a very exciting time. Bobby is studying physical therapy. He is always showing off his knowledge of anatomy around me. I think he knows every single muscle and bone and so forth at this point.
Thanks for the congrats, guys.
I did put everything into a nice spreadsheet.
Mine's filed in Evernote. I wish that could come up in interviews.

My dad did PT for his first seven years in the Air Force, rehabbing guys who came back from the Korean War. So Emmett is not just a fourth generation catcher, he might have physical therapist in his blood.
My lord, Emmett is graduating? That's just not possible. Congratulations to all who love him.
My sister and some of her friends wanted to switch to PT to get closer to the sports teams. None of them did, but I did later meet one woman who went into it with that as her motivation.
And now I have a cousin who PTs the Jamaican fucking
Olympic sprinting
team, and...shit, what choices did I make?
