Well, scratch the Farmer's Market. As I headed over there a lightening storm started to sweep through. I pulled into the lot and they were all packing up as fast as they could.
So now I've decamped to Starbucks to work on work...just need to be out of the house. I had been hoping to sit on the patio, but not so much now.
Rain does put a damper on working out on the patio.
One of my parents' friends has offered to make a cake for their party, hooray! This is turning out to be pretty easy.
And I have successfully eaten lunch (pork chop and butternut squash, the vegetable I may never run out of), so just racking up the accomplishments today.
I spent a good bit of the morning *digging up trees*. Not big ones, but still.
I have so much more of that I should do, but I'm afraid I've done all that I can by myself. Our tiny yard is overhung by a maple, so there are now many several-years-old maple trees, in addition to all the upshoots and little ones.
If I remember right, she made the cake for my sister's wedding and that was delicious and so pretty. They've been friends for decades now, saving watersheds together, so she's not even charging us. Super nice!
One gargantuan bag of the 'petals' from the linden trees swept up. These trees just never give us a break (and they still aren't done with petals, but weather is coming this week and it was mulching already.)
I'm feelthy. Taking a change of clean clothes with me to the pool.
I just caught myself thinking "this summer hasn't been too bad, only a few really hot days" and then I realized that it is not technically summer yet.
It is definitely popsicle season, though. Balsamic strawberry and cream in the quick pop freezer even now.
Oh! After all of the talk of breaking things on hard kitchen counters, I totally smashed a mug on my counter today! Luckily, it was not a mug I liked much.
It is definitely popsicle season, though. Balsamic strawberry and cream in the quick pop freezer even now.
That sounds delightful!
Well, I sucked it up and cleaned out the fridge. Which lead to taking out the trash, so I'm calling it my adult accomplishment for the day. Well, that and sending out five job applications. I sent eight yesterday and six more the day before that. I keep having these flashes of panic, and I've found trawling various employment opportunity web pages helps keep them at bay.
Gold star, Calli! Maybe several.
Popsicle was yum, though I am now thinking that maybe I should cook down the pureed strawberries to concentrate the flavor. Not today.
