I've been out of the abbey two days, I've beaten a lawman senseless, I've fallen in with criminals. I watched the captain shoot the man I swore to protect. And I'm not even sure if I think he was wrong.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Congrats despite the eye-rolling at the lack of details re:benefits (they consider it part of your ocmpensation, I'm sure, so it should be included with the offer. Just logically), Dana.

My niece's last day of school is next Friday. My co-workers kids seem to be finishing up this week. I always was done by the end of May, back in the day in the South. And in college, for that matter. For my various attempts at grad school I always took summer classes, so I don't remember what the yearly schedule was like.

Our wings are not tired.

~ma for the job applicants. That whole applying thing is no fun, but a necessary evil.

I think we are the early end of year for school. Alas, they start in mid-August. It makes no sense because we get storms in August and September and it is so much hotter than in June. But I guess the school districts just like to run the A/C. Pretty much all the schools have open hallways so the students are often stuck and not able to switch classes because of downpours. Craziness. Glad mine are done with that. College classes start August 25th, but it is not like being there all day.

I got a Tree House, and I think msbelle got a Voodoo: [link]

Macadamia nut syrup! Oh my. That almost sounds as good as sipping coctails with msbelle and Tom.

Also, that option sounds a whole lot nicer than Consuela's. Not fun at all. Crating Zoe isn't an option either. She won't even go down hallways. There is much of the house she hasn't seen because confined spaces are too upsetting for her. Alot better than she used to be, but a crate would be way over the top.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Oh good, I am glad that was useful!!

Oh, def. Thanks.

I have a recruiter who says if I get an interview for this job I'm overqualified for (they say 2-4 years experience, I have 20+, sigh), it mightn't be until next week. I'm glad she's all urgent and stuff...

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Bruin camp? Do they learn to be Bruins?

Bruin as in UCLA, if that makes sense. We used to send them to Trojan camp (as in USC) but they don't offer school-age options anymore. Plus UCLA is closer to home and gives them access to a nice outdoor pool.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Left HR person a message, she hasn't responded. I am twitchy. And weirdly guilty that I'm considering not taking this job. I mean, it obviously depends on a lot of factors, but there's some whole thing wrapped up in the idea of actually turning down a job.

Had my brother not known exactly what all the benefits package entailed, he would have accepted essentially a 15% takehome pay cut when moving from contract to perm. So, yeah, kind of important (he ended up negotiating a 10% net takehome raise. I think even they were a little surprised at how much the initial offer would have screwed him over.)

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Okay, got in touch with HR. Not attaching the benefits info seems to have been an oversight.

Also, they're basing their vacation offer on my years of experience in total, rather than my years with their company, which is very attractive.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Ohhh, that is nice. Glad it was an oversight and hopefully the details meet your expectations. Plus YAY!!! Job offer.

Our wings are not tired.

Yay! Glad you asked, and got good answers in a timely fashion. This bodes well.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

That's all adult and shit and worked out well, Dana. Go you.

This is not my week. The only PA of my migraine specialist I've liked (she'll go out of her way for me, but setting up an OOO email message would have been nice in the past) is leaving her job today. So the headaches I've been having with the headaches? Probably gonna get more complicated. I'm glad she told me--she's also the only one that gave me her direct email *and* phone number.
