Hmm. It's sounds like the finest party I can imagine getting paid to go to.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I thought y'all would like to know that the Moncton shooter was captured without further incident overnight, and the Globe and Mail reports that residents of the area that was locked down for 30 hours were lined up at Tim Horton's at 7:30 a.m.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Our district just recently switched to an earlier schedule. It used to get out mid-to-late June and start in September. I don't think anyone has fully adjusted yet.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I hope the summer camps have, at least!

Of course they were! You should have seen Dunkin's here, after our lockdown last year.

Most camps start June 16, but Bruin camp starts next week so I signed them up for it.

Bruin camp? Do they learn to be Bruins?

Dana, definitely ask for specifics--was it a written offer? It's possible they'd be sending a written offer with a folder full of med/dent specifics? Though I feel like these days people ought to have all that stuff (or the important parts) PDF'd

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

It's a written offer. It's got details about stuff like bonuses and non-compete, but not the benefits.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

And I yearn for one of those desks with crazy cubbyholes and niches and stuff. Like this.

I bet that one has no cable holes, though. You need hybrid.

Okay, two Amex jobs applied for. Yoinks. I forgot how much I hated the form-based applications.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Congrats despite the eye-rolling at the lack of details re:benefits (they consider it part of your ocmpensation, I'm sure, so it should be included with the offer. Just logically), Dana.

My niece's last day of school is next Friday. My co-workers kids seem to be finishing up this week. I always was done by the end of May, back in the day in the South. And in college, for that matter. For my various attempts at grad school I always took summer classes, so I don't remember what the yearly schedule was like.

~ma for the job applicants. That whole applying thing is no fun, but a necessary evil.

I think we are the early end of year for school. Alas, they start in mid-August. It makes no sense because we get storms in August and September and it is so much hotter than in June. But I guess the school districts just like to run the A/C. Pretty much all the schools have open hallways so the students are often stuck and not able to switch classes because of downpours. Craziness. Glad mine are done with that. College classes start August 25th, but it is not like being there all day.

I got a Tree House, and I think msbelle got a Voodoo: [link]

Macadamia nut syrup! Oh my. That almost sounds as good as sipping coctails with msbelle and Tom.

Also, that option sounds a whole lot nicer than Consuela's. Not fun at all. Crating Zoe isn't an option either. She won't even go down hallways. There is much of the house she hasn't seen because confined spaces are too upsetting for her. Alot better than she used to be, but a crate would be way over the top.
