I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Full moon makes everyone wacky, new moon gives everyone problems, when do we get to be normal?

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

the problem of most of the people we are dealing with today is they did not plan ahead

I guess this is why I am met with surprise and occasionally delight when I roll up to appointments with all my paperwork filled out and all the items they've asked me to bring with me, and apologize up-front if I've forgotten anything.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Full moon makes everyone wacky, new moon gives everyone problems, when do we get to be normal?

The other two weeks? Eh, I don't actually believe that we are affected by the moon. OR the stars! But I do wonder why it seems like everyone I know has had a more or less crappy week. (I do mean affected, not effected, right? I have avoided using those words for years and have decided it's time to suck it up and figure it out.)

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Affected is right, and I'm blaming the cat.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I really admire everyone who is willing to stand up and enter the #yesallwomen conversation, because I do not have either the eloquence or emotional energy to be a part of it. (And, to be honest, I don't think I have anything uniquely valuable to add to the conversation. I've led a pretty sheltered/privileged life in that respect.)

I will happily jump into other people's FB convos and help thwap the #notallmen assholes when I think I can help, but that's about it. (I'm not on Twitter or Tumblr in any meaningful way.)

Eh, I don't actually believe that we are affected by the moon.

Actually, according to Richard Wiseman on You Are Not So Smart last week, there is scientific data showing that people experience more disturbed sleep during a full moon. Crazy! (And disturbed sleep fucks everything else up, so we end up with everyone being full of unexplained rage and confusion.)

Because books.

Affect is the action, Jesse. Effect is the result. I learned to remember it long ago through E coming after A.

All I know is when we had the supermoon, I experienced the worst cramps I've had in my life.

I really admire everyone who is willing to stand up and enter the #yesallwomen conversation, because I do not have either the eloquence or emotional energy to be a part of it.

Part of it for me was that when I started it was pretty early on, and no one was responding to me negatively -- I got a lot of retweets on a few of them. And I was suddenly overwhelmed by examples from my own life, including being whistled/honked at/catcalled for the first time when I was 13 and walking home alone. Terrifying.

Later that day, though, I had to stop because I just couldn't keep being worked up at that level. As it was, I was in a funk by the time evening rolled around.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Speaking of not planning ahead, my Somerville parking permit runs out on Sunday and the parking office closed for the weekend by the time I realized it. Will have to scramble Monday morning early to escape the wrath of the meter maids.

Oh, good one! Thank you!

Huh! But this week is the new moon, so it's not that one.

I am pretty sure the problem of most of the people we are dealing with today is they did not plan ahead, they cannot follow directions, and the psychological concept transferrance means they think this is our fault.

Sounds about right.

I am irked at my manager who was like "do you have some time to do this thing for me" and when she said it would be about 2 hours I said yes. So I did the thing, but her instructions were fucked up and the info I needed wasn't actually there for some of the things. So I did what I could and sent back and now she's all "you did it wrong!!" and I'm like "The info I need doesn't exist electronically so send it to someone who is in the same places as the paper files and have them do it!!" Ugh.

Also my car's check engine light came on and I'm supposed to go on a roadtrip tomorrow so I had to take it in (luckily they fit me in) and I need my oxygen sensor replaced and it's $300. Which, I can afford and is not so bad for a 13 year old car, but still. Grumph.
